What's Up Wednesday - January 2018

Today I'm linking up with Shay & Shaeffer to share a little bit about what's up!

What we're eating this week...

Ok, so we've been eating so healthy at our house. Think lean proteins, roasted veggies, and minimal carbs. I'm tracking my calories daily & overall, I feel really good. But all I can think about right now is the Fried Chicken Platter I had at Sticky Lips on Sunday! I was a little (ok... a lot) hungover from celebrating my best friend's 40th birthday & it hit the spot like no other! Plus, it was served with french fries & macaroni and cheese. It was a pretty epic cheat meal.

What I'm reminiscing about...

My girls seem so grown up lately, so I've been looking at all the baby pictures. I don't have babies anymore, just really amazing little girls. It's a bitter sweet feeling... but at least I still have my Moo to love on!

What I'm loving...

not my nails - source
I'm currently loving my nail polish! I was honestly never a big nail polish person (and I think I've had two actual manicures in my life), but recently I've been loving having my nails painted for a fun pop of color. I currently have Mod Sqared by Essie on my nails & it makes me think about spring.

What we've been up to...

I'm in the heart of competition season, so I'm spending a lot of time with these girls winning trophies.

That said, competition season also means survival mode at the Eason house. I'm so thankful that Eric picks up my slack & that we don't have mountains of laundry and dishes all over. He is such a good husband & I couldn't do it without him!

What I'm dreading...

I need to potty train Olivia. She's showing signs that she's ready (aka - stripping herself down every time her diaper is wet) but it stresses me out just thinking about it. Ella was a nightmare. I need to start reading up on strategies again. Pray for me people.

What I'm working on...

Well... I'm teaching long division at school. It's a work in progress. It's tiring. They'll get it.

What I'm excited about...

My mom & dad are coming this weekend! I haven't seen them since our trip to Virginia at Christmas, so I can't wait for them to arrive! I have competition Saturday morning, but then I'm meeting my mom, sister, and all of our girls for some lunch and shopping!

Also, I'm very excited to see Justin Timberlake's Halftime Show! #fangirl

What I'm reading...

Last year I read Colleen Hoover's It Ends With Us & it is one of my favorite books ever. It was so well written & just captivated me. So now, I'm reading Ugly Love. I'm not very far into it, but I'll be sure to report back!

What I'm listening to...

I recently reactivated my Apple Music Subscription & discovered that Kayla Itsines has a "Sweat Playlist" on there! I discovered a ton of new songs (along with some old favorites) to pump me up for my workouts!

Also, even though I haven't seen The Greatest Showman - I'm listening to the soundtrack because it's all anyone can talk about! (PS - I hope to take Ella to see the movie soon. We just haven't had time to go!)

What I'm wearing...

Still wearing sweaters, ponte pants, and a rotation of booties or furry mules. My school has severe hot/cold zones - so you'll be freezing for part of the day & sweating for another. It's not ideal. So... I wear lots of layers & keep a blanket by my desk. #teacherlifeisglamorous

What I'm doing this weekend...

I have a competition on Saturday - but it's only for JV & Mod - so I will be done by noon! That means I get to meet up with my mom & sister for the afternoon. Saturday evening we'll probably go out to eat as a family & then on Sunday I hope to see my dad for a bit before they leave to head back home. Their trips are such whirlwinds that I try to focus on them entirely while they're here!

What I'm looking forward to next month...

Two words - February Break! I cannot wait for a week off with no travel plans!

What else is new...

I almost died when I did Week One of BBG, so I took two weeks off to build up a little endurance & strength before diving back in this week. I'm not going to lie. It's really hard. I see so many people who have amazing results though, so I'm determined to keep it up!

What's my favorite soup recipe?

I laughed when I read this question. I do not have a favorite soup recipe. I love any soup my mother-in-law makes & sends to my freezer. I also like Campbell's Chicken Noodle with oyster crackers.

  1. Visiting from Mix and Match Mama. Your school sounds like where I work. I have a heating pad at my desk...even in the summer! And if you can teach long division, I promise you've got potty training. Ha ha! I just got through that myself so I'll send you some good vibes! Great blog!
