Bumpdate: 37 Weeks

37 Weeks - headed out shopping with my sister & Ella

size of the baby: Winter Melon - between 6 & 9 pounds

total weight gain:  27 lbs. - let's just say that finals week was not kind to my waistline. It's my own fault though, I let myself eat way too much junk. Totally back to normal this week though & enjoying lots of healthy meals at home with Miss Ella :)

gender: Baby Girl - Miss Olivia Rose

movement: She's still partying in there!

missing: Shopping for myself - I have myself on a moratorium until Olivia arrives.

craving: Sweets & it is not good for my "waistline." Luckily, now that I'm home with Ella, I've been able to back off. I'd never feed her all of the sugar that I "fed" Olivia during finals week!

exercise: I had 68,000 steps last week, a drop that was in large part due to the weather. It was either excessively hot & humid or rainy outside - not the easiest conditions for a pregnant woman. I'm hoping I'll just naturally be more active this week while I'm off with Ella & not tied to my computer at school writing reports for the majority of the day. If not, I'm still hitting 4 miles a day & that's certainly nothing to sneeze at!

symptoms: Nothing new to report.

best moments:
  • Our first day of summer vacation was pretty awesome! And on Tuesday, Ella had a playdate with her bestie from daycare. I'm really glad that I've been able to spend a little more time with Ella before Olivia arrives!

looking forward to:
  • Well... I'm obviously getting anxious to meet Olivia! At this point, I've kind of just settled into the idea that I'll be pregnant until my due date. No signs of complications is amazing news - and was the reason why I worked so much harder this pregnancy - but these last couple weeks are not a picnic! Kind of glad I missed out on them last time around...
  • My mom & dad will be in town for the 4th of July! They're taking Ella for two nights to "let Eric & I get some rest" - which is grandparent speak for "we're kidnapping your child out of our own selfishness."
  • Eric & I are celebrating our four year wedding anniversary tomorrow, as well as our 11 year dating anniversary. Kind of a big day for us :) And how do we celebrate? We're going to a party at the lake with a bunch of my friends & a whole lot of fireworks! I didn't originally think I'd feel up to it, but I'm really excited now!
