The Weekend I Ate Everything

Friday started out just like any other day. We got up, got dressed, & headed to school with this one looking extra adorable in the backseat. I mean, seriously, she's growing up way too fast! Thank goodness I have another one on the way...

I got to work & taught a couple classes, then checked in with two of my best friends about our plans for the night. I knew we were going to dinner for my birthday, we just hadn't decided wear. Well... we decided to be all fancy & chose Red Robin followed by fro-yo. So... I thought to myself, I should probably take it easy earlier in the day because I'll obviously be eating my face off tonight. And of course, that made me ravenous all day long! I still tracked everything that I ate for the day & the number is embarrassingly high... but I'm not going to be pregnant much longer & it's only one day.

trying to hide her fro-yo under the table so that I couldn't document her shame...

And in case you've ever wondered what $10 worth of fro-yo looks like, this was my friend LeeAnn's dessert. Mine came in at $3.50, I have no idea how she ate all that! But, I think it speaks volumes about #teacherlife at the end of a school year...

On Saturday morning, Ella & I woke up, got a couple miles in, then got ready to go to our Ranger Cheer car wash. Ella was really excited to go to the carwash, but I don't think it lived up to her expectations at all. She basically sat in her stroller & watched her shows on the iPad because she was afraid of the suds. She can really be quite the drama queen, I have no idea how I'm going to survive her teenage years.

Thankfully, I didn't have to get my hands all that dirty either. I was dressed to help out if needed, but people just kept trying to get me to sit down. I must look like I'm ready to pop or something...

Ella's reward for being a good girl at the car wash? A chocolate chip cookie from Starbucks :)

Upon arrival back home, we had a minor mishap in the driveway. Ella was running inside to her daddy & completely face planted! This was our first major fall & it scared the living daylights out of me. She's totally fine & the Honest Company Healing Balm I put on it worked wonders. I'm sure it's just the first of many mishaps to occur this summer...

After naps, we all got ready to head out to the ball park for a fun night with Uncle Matt & Aunt Britt. While I was getting everything packed up, Ella practiced her golf skills...

The event at the ball park was a charity softball game benefiting the ALS Foundation. LeSean McCoy, who plays for the Buffalo Bills, put on the event & there were a ton of the team's players at the game. Even our new coach, Rex Ryan, played. We had a blast eating hot dogs & fries for dinner, then of course Ella & I found an ice cream cone for too! Oh, and Uncle Matt shared his fried dough with us... I told you I ate everything this weekend!

On Sunday morning, I told Ella that I had a big surprise for her & that we needed to get ready. We skipped our morning walk so we'd be ready in time - we hadn't gotten home until 10:30 the night before & totally slept in - and got cleaned up. Then, we jumped in my car & headed to Cracker Barrel. Ella got out of her carseat & tried to watch for her surprise. She was convinced that it was Mickey Mouse...

Her surprise was actually Grammy & Gramps!!! My mom & dad decided to come up to see us at the last minute, and Ella was so excited to see them. Mickey Mouse totally went out the window when their van pulled up beside us!

We had breakfast with them, plus Aunt Britt & Uncle Matt, then my dad took off to golf with Eric before the rain returned. The rest of us went to Costco & stocked up on some essentials - like a Sofia the First nightgown that Ella may never take off again....

My sister had an event to go to in the afternoon, so my mom, Ella & I went to run a few "errands" at the mall. And by errands I mean that Gap & Athlete were having a sale... I ended up bringing home a few new outfits for both of the girls, but resisted buying anything for myself since I did just have a birthday & all.

Grammy & Gramps had to get back to their house, so they didn't stay for dinner, which is good because we really needed groceries & I have no idea what I would have fed them. So while Ella napped, I lived every mother's dream & did solo grocery shopping!

I made it back home to throw together a healthy dinner of grilled pork & broccoli - because let's be honest I definitely needed some veggies by this point - and did some housework while the rain started to pour down outside again. A pretty low-key end to a great weekend!

Happy Monday! It's my last full week of school & I'm hoping it flies by!
