Let's Catch Up...

"Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you're all rested & ready for a busy week ahead!"

Yes, that's the load of BS I threw at my students this morning. They didn't buy it. I think they can see right through my fake perkiness & recognize the deep exhaustion that is inhabiting my soul right now. Ok, that's probably a little dramatic, but I just can't seem to shake this winter funk. All I wanted to do was stay in bed...

you can thank Eric for this beautiful shot of us passed out together Saturday night...
Normally I'm a morning person & can get right up, but not today. I think I really just need a break in the weather - at least a little sunshine! 10 days til Florida... that's my mantra right now.

We had a great weekend & I really didn't want it to end. (Maybe that was part of the problem this morning too.) We didn't have to go anywhere & kind of just did things at our own pace. We'd wake up, eat breakfast, head to the gym, and lounge around with no set timelines. Eric & I had a talk last night and we've decided we're going to make weekends like this a priority. As much as we love seeing our family & taking little trips, we just can't be running in a million different directions every weekend. It's too much. That said, we'll be gone all of next weekend for my Grandma's 70th birthday & the weekend after that I'll be in Florida. So I guess we're easing into it? Whatever - we're going to try!

Miss Ella at the book store...

We took Miss Ella to the book store & did our grocery shopping. I took Eric to Trader Joe's for the first time & he actually really liked it - which was a surprise because he was pretty dead set against it when they first came to town. We bought a ton of supplies for healthy dinners & lunches throughout the week - trying to keep the healthy living train moving in the Bliss house!
Ella's on board with our healthy lifestyle too...

As far as my training goes, I'm feeling really good right now. I stepped on the scale yesterday & was at 127 pounds, which is the weight I was at after my last half marathon. And it isn't a jiggly 127 - it's a firm, you should check out my muscles, 127. I'm actually quite positive it's the best shape I've been in my life. That's why I'm excited to keep training, keep pushing, keep seeing those results. No Big Macs & milkshakes this time around. Clean diet, hard training, no excuses.

I feel like this post & this weekend pretty much sums up where life is at right now in our house. We're making our own selves a priority - staying healthy & taking care of ourselves. I'm sure certain members of our families will call it selfish the first time we say no to something, but it's where we need to be.

With that said, take care of yourself this week friends! It's supposed to be cold & snowy in the north, but stay strong! We can do this!
