What I'm Wearing Wednesday - Keep It Simple!

The weather has been a yo-yo in Rochester lately. One day is 75 & sunny, the next it's 45 & raining. But, it's April & that means I am breaking out my summer shoes. At times that means walking in flip flops in the rain, but I'll gladly tough that out to achieve the blissful feeling of being almost barefoot.

Ella totally takes after me & hates shoes too!
My outfits over the past week have been pretty simple. I've been wearing a lot of basic tees & keeping it low key with my accessories. That's just the kind of mood I've been in, I go through phases. I think we all do.

On Saturday, we went to Eric's hometown to wish a fond farewell to a good friend. He has literally packed his life into a Pod and shipped it to San Diego! He doesn't have a job or a place to live. He's just going for it. Crazy, yes. Awesome, yes. Would I ever do it? Hell no. This was not a fancy shindig, so I kept it simple with green skinnies, flats, and a white tee. I dressed it up with  my favorite necklace from Lia Sophia.

We partied hard on Saturday night, and getting ready to go househunting on Sunday was a chore. I really wanted to stay in sweatpants & a hoodie, but Eric was convinced that people wouldn't take us seriously and made me get dressed. I did the best I could to look like a grownup, which meant that I tucked my shirt in & put on a belt. I even abandoned my skinnies in favor of trouser jeans. You can't see them in the picture, but I'm wearing wedges too! (According to my husband, adults don't wear flip flops in 50 degree weather.)

I also carried my new bag from Francesca's! It's real leather and I am so in love with it. I find a way to carry it every day! I love that it has the short handles & a long strap. Between Ella's toys and business cards, I had a TON of stuff crammed in there by the time we were done

And yesterday I decided to get preppy & rock my Sperry's with berry bermudas. It was 65 degrees outside, and I was feeling down. I knew shorts were the solution to my problem. I paired the bermudas with my gold belt (always adds spice to an outfit) and my white henley. Again, it's a simple but effective outfit. The Sperrys add a preppy touch to it too, which I always love!

Sorry thsi picture is so craptastic - as I said, it was raining & the lighting was terrible in our house!

Side note on those bermudas - they're VERY loose on me. Two summers ago, I remember asking myself if they were too tight to leave the house in. I've had a baby since then. Start running, it will change your life!
