Training Update & Spring Fitness Must Haves

On Sunday, I ran 10 miles. I had limited motivation for this run, but once I got to mile 3, I started to hit my stride. I was watching Something Borrowed & got distracted by all of the rom-com goodness, so that helped too. I was able to keep my pace at 10 min/mile, which is my goal for the actual race. I figure that I can keep it up for another 3.1 miles & I'm finally starting to feel confident about this whole thing. (Unlike last week...)

Last night, I spent the afternoon with our JV cheer coach and didn't get home until 7 p.m. Ella still had to be fed, I had to eat dinner, there were dishes to be done... I could've found so many excuses to skip my run. What saved me was the arrival of my new sneakers! They were just calling my name, so I left the house at 7:50 & started running at 8. (Let me warn you, if you decide to run at 8 p.m. - you will not be ready to go to bed at 10. You will be WIDE awake. This was the case for me last night...) I ended up setting a new 5K PR! I held an 8:55 pace & finished in 26:49 - I was pumped!

Because I was so pumped, I couldn't sleep. I was up in bed - emailing, blogging, and browsing online for some new running gear. Here are a few things that I NEED (hear that Eric, I NEED) to have for my spring runs...
