Super Bowl Sunday & Ella's 6 Month Dr. Visit

Happy Monday Everyone! I got a late(r) start to the day because I had the morning off to take Ella to the doctor. It was perfect because I stayed up late with the hubs to watch the big game... not because I was really that interested, but because I wanted to hang out with just him for awhile. (That never seems to happen these days!)

We got invited to a few Super Bowl gatherings, but we opted to stay in. On the East Coast, the game doesn't start until 6:30. When you have an infant that goes to bed at 7:30, you're kind of limited. We didn't want to have a ton of people at our house either, because we wanted her to sleep. So we decided to just watch the game together at home. This benefited me immensely because a) I didn't have to change out of sweatpants and b) I had complete control over what we ate. I wasn't tempted to overindulge with desserts or eat tons of fried good. We just made our go to boneless wings & a homemade pizza. I only had a slice of pizza and 6 wing pieces - kept it totally in check!

these pictures do not do this food justice, because they suck, and the food definitely didn't

Ella was really into the game for the first quarter, but then she just passed out. I was really hoping she'd stay up to watch Beyonce with me, but I'll just have to show her the epic Destiny's Child reunion on DVR. I know that she would've loved it because she has excellent taste in music and already knows all of the words to Bootylicious.

Ella zoned in on the t.v. during the Star Spangled Banner ~ Eric zoned in on twitter

Speaking of how advanced my daughter is, Ella had her six month check up this morning! She is 25 1/2 inches long & 14 lbs. 11 oz. She is still a peanut, but she's growing consistently and is perfectly healthy. She put on quite the show for everyone and was doing her army crawl all over the exam table. She was full of smiles for the whole appointment, but in this picture she's extrememly focused on not tipping over.

sitting up is very serious work

After Ella's visit, we had about an hour to kill before I had to be back at work. Since she spit up all over my pants while at the appointment, we decided to run to Target and serach for another pair. I found a few pairs on sale, but I decided to get these pink ones because they roll at the ankles and will transition nicely into spring. They also look great with my boots. I was pretty pumped because I'm solidly back into a size 4 again ~ I wasn't sure that was ever going to happen after having Ella. The running is definitely paying off and I'm seeing results, though they aren't always on the scale.

here's the link to the jeans! very affordable!

After work I'm going to run 3 miles before I pick up Ella. I have to squeeze it in because tonight I am taking my CPR renewal for coaching. Hopefully it won't be too long because I want to get home & watch The Biggest Loser!
