Rocking the Treadmill

I was really dreading my run last night. It had been 5 days since my last run. (groan) All of my best laid plans completely fell apart due to the storm that hit us. I had to take Ella to my parents' on Thursday, so that run was scratched. We got back far later than expected on Monday, so that run was scratched. I was too busy taking shots of Rumpleminz to run on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. I WAS ASHAMED OF MYSELF!

On my drive to the gym last night, I was really questioning whether or not I'll make it through my training plan. I was being completely dramatic & thought that I'd die after 3 minutes of running. What I discovered, is that after those 5 days off - my run felt amazing. My legs were fresh, I was excited to be running - it felt new again! With this attitude, I ended up running my fastest 5K ever! I finished in 28:51 & had an average pace of 9:17. I normally run at about a 10:00 pace, so this was really a push for me. It felt so good to sweat it out though!


Needless to say, I was ecstatic that my return had gone so well! I'm still annoyed with myself that I let our vacation derail my fitness & eating - but that's life. I know that there will be other obstacles to conquer, and I'll just have to tackle them as they come. Until then... I'm going to keep rocking my comeback!
