My First Speed Workout

Yesterday afternoon I headed into my school's weight room to crank out a quick workout. I needed to get in 3 miles before I picked up Ella. I decided that since I was in a rush, I'd make it a "speed workout."  This is how it went down:



Now you should know a few things about this workout...
  1. I am NOT an expert. I pretty much made this up as I went based on things I've seen on Pinterest and running blogs.
  2. I was trying to simulate a track workout ~ hence the quarter mile distances.
  3. This will give you an average 9:17 pace, but you can bump it up or tone it down based on where you are at.
I was spent after I did this. I hardley ever crank it up out of the 6's but I have to say that it felt really good. It also helped that I was running on the treadmill next to the cross country coach. She is extremely encouraging & pushes me to go harder and faster. I keep joking that I'm going to give up cheerleading and just train with her team.
