At Home Strength Training

Last night Eric got stuck at work until 7. This rarely happens, so it was totally unexpected. By the time he got home I already had Ella fed & in her pajamas. I still had grading to do for school and there was laundry in progress. There was no way that I was going to leave the house. Instead, I decided to do an at home strength and stretch session.

I work out in Ella's nursery because a) it has a rug and b) the door latches so I can shut Charlie out. (I love his kisses & all, but not while I'm trying to get my sweat on.)

Yesterday, I focused on my legs, butt, & abs. What I did was boring, so I won't walk you through it, but it involved lots of lunges, squats, planks, and crunches. I'm a huge fan of using my own body weight to tone up & even though I had my 5 lbers handy, I didn't feel the need to get them out. My ass is on fire today though & that's what's important.

One last thing... I really enjoyed my outfit this morning, so I thought I'd share it with you as well. It's really simple, but looks pulled together & casual at the same time.

Honestly, this picture doesn't do the outfit justice. I look hot today. I've recieved many compliments on it at the meeting I'm attending today. Such a great confidence boost!

    Early last week we had very icy conditions outside so I did indoor body-weight exercises after giving up my run at 2.5 miles. Now I have done them a couple of time since ... when life throws a curve, there is always stuff you can do easily at home!

    1. I think it was exactly what my body needed. I ran my fastest ever 5K last night by almost a minute.
