Heat Wave!

Rochester experienced a heat wave this weekend. It was over 60 degrees yesterday! I just HAD to run outside. I needed it. Charlie needed it. The sidewalk was calling our name.

The conditions were perfect. The sidewalks were clear, there was a nice breeze, and the hills on my route were just steep enough to challenge me. I could've ran for far longer than I did, but I stopped after my normal 3 mile loop. Charlie was running out of steam & I knew that Ella & Eric were craving some fresh air too. So we got the stroller out & hit the pavement as a family. We did another 1.5 miles on my "pregnancy route" which is just around our neighborhood.

May I introduce you to the world's happiest pup?

Once we got home from our walk, we decided to jump right into the car & hit up Wegmans for our weekly groceries. Ella was very excited about our trip & couldn't wait to pick out her newest flavor of baby food! She picked peas, which wouldn't have been my first choice, but Eric won't let her have fruit yet. He read somewhere that babies should develop a taste for veggies before they get the sweet stuff. I can tell that Ella really wants a banana though, she stares me down every time that I eat one.

Ella & I spent the rest of the day playing, while Eric made dinner. He used our new Pampered Chef cookbook to make a chicken pot pie. He's a far better cook than I am & it turned out awesome. It had TONS of veggies in it & was far healthier than the ones you buy in the frozen section.

I know this isn't the best pic, but I ate mine too fast to get a picture of it in my bowl.

Once I finished stuffing my face, I had to sit down and do some planning for school this week. Ella & Eric watched football together. She looks like a grump in the picture below, but she's just really into it. She'll zone in and Eric will have to try and snap her out of it. Quite funny to witness in person. I just hope she doesn't start yelling at the refs anytime soon.

  1. Same down here in the Corning area ... gorgeous! I got out for 7 yesterday, and got the last of the outdoor Christmas decorations down. But as a 'born & raised and lived 40+ years' Boston guy, I was with the Pats all the way. I had enough years of them being an NFL joke to relish every win now :)

  3. The weather here in Ohio was insane! I actually think it was a tease because now I have to get used to running in the cold again! I guess I have plenty of time for that.

    1. I agree, it was a total tease! Stepping out into the 30 degree was just that much harder after running in a skirt on Sunday.

    1. It's already back to normal here, but I can deal as long as the sheet of ice on the sidewalk stays away for awhile. I am far too clumsy to run in those conditions.
