2013 Goals

My overall resolution is to put my family first. There were many times over the past year that I let coaching, teaching, or other obligations come before spending time with Eric. Ella has changed my outlook & I'm going to be extra conscious of putting her & the hubs first.

My concrete & measurable goals are as follows:

1. Run two half marathons. I'm already signed up to run the Nike Women's Half in DC. (SO EXCITED!) I'll decide on my second half after I make it through that training cycle.

2. Save some money. To be specific, I want to have at least $5,000 in savings by the end of the year. I suck at saving, mainly because I excel at shopping.

3. Eat less fried food. Fried food has always been my vice. Chicken tenders, French fries, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks... the list goes on and on. I don't eat nearly as much as I did five years ago, but since pregnancy, I eat a little too much drive thru fast food. In 2013, I'm cutting WAY back.

  1. Great goals! Ran across your blog from a comment on one of the recent '5 running blogs you should follow' post at Competitor.

    I have been reminding people to 'set goals' and not 'make resolutions', as goals are specific and measurable (S.M.A.R.T.) whereas resolutions tend to be vague.

    I ran my first marathon ever in 2012 (Corning Wineglass), and my goal is to do 2 this year and a stretch goal is an Ultra ... we'll see.
